The autocorrect feature was designed with the aim of simplifying things for you, and more so when hard keyboards were replaced with the touch-sensitive screen. However, it is not lost to many that misunderstandings could easily crop up and if you are not used to auto correction, you definitely don’t want it happening with parties like your mum, or boss.

The LG G3 can particularly be trouble because predictive text comes in different levels that go all the way to ‘aggressive’, the worst kind. Turn off autocorrect and it’s a great phone the G3. Here’s how to go about it:

  • Fire up the menu app and head over to Settings.
  • Under Settings find the Language and Input
  • One of the options here includes LG Keyboard. On its right is a gear icon. Tap it and look for the Auto-correction option which includes Off/Mid/Moderate/Aggressive.
  • To turn off autocorrect completely, choose Off.

Alternatively, you could also do it like this:

  • Launch any app that requires the use of the keyboard (Messaging, Email etc.)
  • Look for the Voice icon then tap and hold it for a few seconds.
  • Look for the Settings cog and tap it to view all your keyboard settings.
  • A list will appear that includes Auto-correction.
  • Disable autocorrect by turning it to Off.
